Pumpkin Scones with Pumpkin Spice Glaze
One of our favourite flavours is pumpkin. We can eat pumpkin flavoured treats all year round, but we crave the flavour the most in October. This scone recipe is one of our favourites, it's great with a hot cup of tea on a cool fall day.

Pumpkin Scones with Pumpkin Spice Glaze
Ingredients
Scone:
2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
3 tsp pumpkin spice
1/3 cup cold butter, cut into cubes
2/3 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg
Glaze:
2 cups icing sugar
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
2 tbsp heavy cream
2 tsp pumpkin spice
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a small bowl, whisk together Glaze Ingredients and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and pumpkin spice.
Using a pastry cutter, cut butter into dry mixture until the mixture resembles sand but the butter is not completely worked in.
In a separate bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, buttermilk and the egg.
Using your hands fold the wet mixture into dry mixture. Mix until just combined and then turn dough out onto a floured surface.
Using your hands shape the dough in a flat disc 3/4" thick.
Using a knife, slice dough like a pie into 8 triangles, pull triangles apart and transfer triangles to a lined cookie.
Bake for 14-15 minutes and let cool on a wire rack.
Once the Scones have cooled spread 1-2 tbsp of Glaze on each scone.
Leave icing to set for a less gooey consistency.
