Slow Cooker Apple Butter
This kitchen fan is now a married kitchen diva!!! I made this delicious spread for our wedding to give out as favours. It’s amazing on biscuits, toast, cinnamon buns or for the adventurous in the crowd my hubby likes it on his grilled cheese.
From my kitchen to yours:
Slow Cooker Apple Butter
Ingredients:
20 apples (we like cortlands), medium size, cored and shredded
2 tbsp vanilla
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
Directions:
1. Shred apples with the peeling on
2. Add apples, vanilla, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, nutmeg and sweetened condensed milk to the slow cooker.
3. Stir to coat all of shredded apple, cover and cook on high for 8 hours. Stirring every hour.
4. Turn slow cooker down to low and cook for an additional 7-8 hours. (I turned it down and let it cook on low overnight)
5. Add brown sugar and stir until well combined
6. Using a stick blender or food processor blend mixture until it is a smooth, creamy consistency.
